I had a blast writing and thumbnailing this ad design!
After a few iterations that were either too story-heavy or too patronizing, I found the right balance by tapping into the nostalgia of comics and blending the old with the new. This approach really employed my subject matter expertise, bridging the gap between longtime fans and the boom of new fans. Based on research, our two main customer personas- readers of contemporary graphic novels, and collectors of classics, both identify with this vintage comic aesthetic. The result was a 30% increase in lead conversions for the club, as well as a noticeable boost in brand awareness nationwide.
